The first Rocabar horse blanket was produced in the Hermès workshops in the early 20th century, and went on to inspire numerous Hermès creations. The name is derived from one artisan’s term for the piece, describing it in a mix of French and English as a “rug à barres” (a striped blanket). Inspired by the iconic “rug”, Henri d’Origny created six stylised horses in this graphic design first issued in 2012.
